Hydrangea colouring sheets

Hydrangeas are by far one of my favourite flowers! 
I saw my first real life hydrangea when I was about 30, during a summer walk near Hamstead Heath. Its grandiose flower heads, lovely four petal flowers and breathtaking colours instantly caught my eye.
I think it's amazing how after several years in London, I can still be pleasantly surprised by finding new flowers that I never got to see while growing up in South America!

What did I use to draw them?
  • Devices: iPad 6th Generation + Apple Pencil
  • Applications: Procreate (90%) +  Adobe Draw (10%)

It's well known that I love everything to do with flowers... but when it comes to drawing/painting, I think my eyes don't have the required talent to artistically identify shapes and colours.  Still, I told myself I wanted to draw flowers and I had to find a way to achieve this! And so I decided to take an ethical "copy-paste" approach to this: I photographed as many flowers as possible I imported my selected picture into my iPad digital drawing app: Procreate® Using my Apple Pen, I traced the outlines of my flower into a new layer and voila! Will these testing times give us insightful learnings?

Did you ever wonder, in pre COVID times, how it would feel to live in a small and quiet village? I faced this question a couple of times before, and each time I thought to myself "there's no way I can be in a quiet town, I'm a city girl, I need the noise, the people, the speedy lifestyle. A quiet village would be SO boring ! " Well… then COVID happened. We were all forced to stay at home and drastically change our lifestyle . We had to stop planning our weekends and to forget about our future gatherings, outside commitments and social events. I was suddenly confronted with LOADS of spare time, not only from the cancelled gatherings but because I stopped going through my daily miserable, stressful and crammed commute! Actually, I didn’t have to get myself ready for work nor did I have to take my packed lunches with me, no gym bag to carry …plus, I suddenly had MUCH more time to sleep! (Also… talk about warm homemade breakfasts and "day pyjamas")
